I learned many new things about GPS today!

I do not have any questions at this time.

I am taking 17 credits so no one thing seems to terribly difficult but it is the sheer bulk of things that scare me!

Everything I learned today was new.

I have lots of questions but I will ask tomorrow.

The best book I've read recently is The Book of Mormon.

I do not have any questions at this time.

My favorite place to eat is a place in my mission called Los Farrolitos:) Their tacos and salsa are AMAZING!

11/14/2008

The good thing about today is that I remembered having learned all of these things once upon a time.

I do not have any questions at this time.

Colton told me this joke: Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

Answer: It died.

My "aha" moment of the day was when Nichole told us that we could create the memory game in powerpoint and Brandon Barth exclaimed, "The possibilities are endless!"

I currently have no questions.

My favorite class besides this one is definately my LDS History class taught by Sister Black.

Something interesting about myself is that I am color blind.

10/31/2008

Once again, I have never done any of what we learned today so it was all more or less an "aha" moment.

I currently do not have any questions.

For Halloween I will be going to our ward party and to another party in Park City, and those are pretty much my plans.

Mini-Assignment #4
For this assignment I used the quick selection tool, and the gradient tool to change the sky in the first picture.
In the second picture I worked with the layers, the eraser tool, the burn and the dodge tools. I also had to make adjustments to the levels, color balance, brightness/Contrast and exposure.
  1. My "aha" moment was learning how to make the fat semi-naked man disappear from the image.
  2. I do not have any questions at this time.
  3. Im not very superstitious but I did sleep in my uniform the nights before my basketball games.

Mini-Assignment #3
For this assignment I adjusted the image levels and used the burn and dodge tool to lighten or darken different areas of the pictures.
Aha moment- I have never manually made a panaoramic picture like we did today, so the entire day was my "aha" moment.
I dont currently have any questions.
I am a HUGE sports fan! I love to play sports!!! In high school I played football, basketball, baseball, track and golf. My favorite sports to watch and play would definately be football and basketball.

My "aha" moment for the day is when we learned the burn and dodge tools to lighten or darken our images.

I do not have any questions.

My favorite Fall activity is probably playing psorts since the weather is starting to cool off, but then again my favorite activity during all seasons is playing sports.

Mini-Assignment #1

  1. In order to complete this assignment I had to use the crop tool, the move tool, the rectangular marquee tool, and the magic wand tool.

Mini-Assignment #2
My "aha" moment of the day was when we learned how to put shadows behind the text on our magazine covers.
I dont have any questions right now.
The best date I ever had was when my buddy and I took our dates to the cabin. We had stake dinners on the boat on the lake and just hung out, fished, played some volleyball, made a fire at night etc...

Today was a very interesting lecture!! I've never really used photoshop before so it was all new information to me.

I was wondering if I can make up the first mini assignment since I was not in class on Monday?

My worst injury would probably be the three times I've broken my nose. It seems to get worse every time I do it!

10/10/2008

I didn't really have any "aha" moments today which was good since it was a test review.

I don't have any questions right now.

One of my favorite pets was a lizard named Puff Daddy. He was about a foot and a half long and could run on his back legs. He was the coolest guy ever, until one day when I let him out of his cage to run around the house. Things were going well, and he was just cruising around the house as usual when suddenly he ran right off the balcony and broke his back legs. Unfortunately he died a week later.

10/08/2008

This was another really good lecture. Once again, I did not know how to do most of what we learned today. My "aha" moment was definately how to format graphs. I knew that you could add grapsh but I did not know you could make all of these fancy changes.

I don't have any questions right now.

If money wasn't an issue I would want to go on a survival trip to the Congo! I've always really wanted to go to Africa because I really like reptiles and dangerous animals. So I would either go there or the Amazon.

10/06/2008

Today was really interesting. I knew the basics of everything we did but I have never dealt so much with the equations in Excel. Doing the craters exercise was very helpful. The answer to the assignment for the largest difference was OBJECTID #36.

I don't have any questions about Excel right now.

My favorite breakfast food is definately German Pancakes, they're the best!!!

I liked that we walked thorugh the assignment today. It really helped to know exactly what is expected of us!

I dont have any questions right now.

The only musical instrument that I can play is the recorder. I used to be pretty good with that snake charming song:) If I was forced to learn how to play an instrument it would be the piano.

Today was a really good class! I actually did not know most of what we learned today! My favorite thing we learned today would definately have to be the bookmarks.

I don't have any questions at this time.

I have two very strange uncles. One opened a Chucky Cheese in Alaska but got into trouble because he started serving alcohol. My grandma is very proud of another of my uncles because he is the proud owner of several of what she terms as "high class restaurants," called Hooters. thank goodness she has never actually been to one.

Wow, this was another really good class! I never realized that you could edit a paper in such a way. Pretty much the entire class was new information to me. This will be very useful information for me in the future.

The only question I have is occasionally when I edited the paper it would not show up in a baloon on the right hand side. Why is that?

The worst movie I have seen recently was Cloverfield!!! They used a handheld camera to film it so you get motion sickness from all the running and bouncing around. Plus the ending is pretty depressing since everyone dies.

09/26/2008

My "aha" moment of the day is when we learned how to structure a paragraph. It really helps to actually do what we did at the bottom by highlighting the issue and bolding the point.

I do not have any questions at this time.

The Wasatch Front is home to approximately 1.6 million people or about 80% of the total inhabitants of Utah, is also the area with the greatest earthquake risk in the interior of the western United States. These earthquakes are caused by slipping that occurs along the Wasatch fault line which happens as a result of strain that builds up within the earth’s surface (Bruhn and Schultz, 1996). This paper proposes to use evidence of past earthquakes along this fault line and the destruction they may have caused to help predict and evaluate the destruction that may occur in a future event. This information will also be used to protect and prepare the many inhabitants of the Wasatch Front.

09/24/2008

Once again, I have never created a web page before so most of what we learned today was new to me.

I actually have a lot of questions because I fell behind since I could not log in at the start of class.

When I was young, I wanted to be a proffessional basketball player or a pilot.

09/22/2008

I have never created a web page so this was definately a first for me.

I don't have any questions at this time.

My favorite food is probably Fajitas, I love pretty much all mexican food because I served my mission there but I especially like Fajitas!

09/19/2008

Once again, most of this information was new to me so most of the lecture today was an "aha" moment.

I seem to be struggling with writing my abstract. I guess since I've really never written anything like this before, I don't really know what is expected of me. The lectures do help though.

If I could have a superhero power, it would definately be the ability to fly. I've always wanted to be able to fly and it would save me a lot of money on gas.

09/17/2008

I do have a question. How do we know if our topic is to broad or to vague? How can we decide that?

If I were a tool I would be a table saw because thats my favorite tool to work with. Its a lot of fun, its very useful and its slightly dangerous.

09/15/08

Actually, I found today's material to be very informative because I have never written a proposal before. So probably the entire class was more or less an "aha" experience.

It seems that I have no questions right now, but I'm sure I will as I get started on my proposal.

My dream vacation would definately be to Africa or the Amazon. I like wildlife and being out doors so those two places would be ideal I think.

09/12/2008

I really enjoyed today's guest lecturer! It gave me a much better idea of what to expect in the interviewing process and what things that I can do to set myself apart from other people. I especially liked the part when he talked about his ten minute teaching opportunity and how he taught the people that were interviewing him how to tie a bowline and left each one of them with their own rope. That was something that differentiated him from the rest of his peers and helped land him the job.

Once I again, I have no questions at this time.

One thing I think that differentiates me from other people is that I dont give up. I feel that I am drawn to more difficult situations because they provide me with the opportunity to push myself and stretch my abilities.

09/10/2008

I actually learned a lot today in class! Honestly I've never really made a "professional" CV/Resume so this is something that will be extremely useful for me in the future.

I still don't have any questions but Im sure I will when I get started on my CV.

On my mission we had this stuff called pica pica, which makes you itch uncontrollably. At this time we lived in a house with another companionship so my companion and I decided to put it all over their towels. To get us back they bought mace and sprayed us as we walked through the door, unfortunately or fortunately for us they accidently sprayed themselves. It was pretty funny because we were all rolling on the floor gagging and our eyes were burning like crazy!

09/08/2008

My "aha" moment of the day was when we learned how to put periods in between tabs for things such as a table of contents instead of adding each period manually.

I am not currently confused about any of the things that we have learned today but I'm sure that will change in the not so distant future.

I have a very large scar on my left arm that occured while I was hunting with my friend and he accidently shot me... Ok actually, I got the scar while doing service for an elderly lady in my home ward. After mowing her lawn, I lifted the mower to put it back in the truck and pressed the hot motor against my arm giving me a third degree burn and a nice scar. Luckily I did not drop the mower.
